Excellent. This year was quite wonderful. Married, job going well, not living with parents. Really nothing to complain about. I should probably think of something I am interested in and start writing about that subject rather than my life, because obviously not a whole lot to talk about here.

I have 1 fan!

Today was an exciting day. Upon entering work and checking my e-mail, I got a special email from a friend letting me know he is the single person who subscribes to my blog via google reader. Oh joy I have made it big time. At least I know it isn't all for nothing. I think I am just going to blog about my day and try to leave out some details that might get me in trouble. First let me mention that if you are a teenager who owns a convertible I have a quick fun idea for you. Go to your local super market and pick up some bologna or any other fun lunch meat, but bologna works the best. Next plan a trip somewhere with some friends, enough friends where there has to be two cars. Be sure to take the lead and at some point start throwing up the bologna at the car behind you. If you are asking why it has to be on your friends car rather than a strangers, well because I don't want to suggest anything that might get someone killed. Anyways bologna makes for a fun smears across any windsheild it comes in contact with so go at it. Moving on to the day I had. This is my routine I wake up around 7ish to take a shower. I get dressed and do any other necessary grooming, get some yogurt and a beverage. I head into my car turn on the Score 670 and I am on my way. It typically takes me 40-50 minutes to get to my work as I have to travel roughly 26 construction filled miles. Once I arrive at work I either open the place up or just walk in prepare my waffles and yogurt and eat some breakfast while looking at the emails I got from the previous day. Depending on what day of the week it is I either go on to do random marketing/SEO/SEM stuff or I am out in the warehouse processing orders for the day. Small business is fun like that. No one really has a set position, you really just have to do whatever is needed for that day. Recently work has had some major lows, but also some major highs. I must say I really enjoy my job, from the sport I love that I get to deal with on a daily basis. To being able to work with a good friend everyday and not having any sort of dress code. To just learning new things everyday and making some huge decisions with companies I never though I would be able to deal with. Anyways, that is my day, everyday. Today I also decided I should probably hit the gym up again, while not really getting heavier I can tell I am getting a big more jiggly. Basically I think my muscle has returned to it's normal state of being fat. Not a big surprise as I just haven't had the motivation to get to the gym in over 2 weeks and have had even less motivation to do any sort of lifting. I think cardio is the way to go. I have no desire to get big, it just causes way more issues than I have time or money for. Mostly I would hate to not have all my clothing fit. I will now end this abruptly because well that is how things work, hopefully my one fan is not upset by this decision, but I am rusty at this and need to warm up to longer blogs again.

This blog doesn't exist

I mean seriously it has been almost a year since I have updated this blog. I am not sure why I haven't decided to delete it yet, but I think the main thing is that I find it rather amusing to read old entries. I however would not be to fond if actually my entire family new of this blog and also read those same entries. Anyways I think personal blogging like this is quickly going out the window with all the new social networks out there. In a world that lacks any attention span what so ever a blog is just not going to work. People hope to read no more than 140 characters or whatever the restrictions are on Twitter. I do however enjoy blogging even if I am awful at writing, I guess I just need to figure out a gimmick other than my personal life that I can write about. I mean I could write about my job and the crazy things that happen there, but being as it has only a couple employees it would hard to talk about people or events that happen there without people realizing exactly who and what I was talking about. Plus we like to keep our business a bit of a secret from the outside world and since there are probably competitors that have found this amazing blog I have to keep it pretty low key. I could write about getting ready for the wedding, but then I would just be writing about how Leighan is getting pissed at me for doing nothing and me not realizing how much stuff there is to do even though there is a ton of stuff to do. I could write about music, but I really haven't found much new that I really like, plus the people who might read this would have no interest in the music that I listen to or that I would review. Well perhaps when I figure it out I will return, but until then I'm out.

The Traveling (My Last Name's)

I just got back from Baltimore earlier this week on a bit of a family vacation. It was my second aunts 50th anniversary so my parents/tinches/grandma and leighan decided to head out there for it. My grandma surprised us all letting us know she was paying for the plane tickets out there which sweetened the deal even more. I would have to say it was one of the better vacations Leighan and I have taken together, and if I had to guess the reason would be because we limited our time with my parents. We came in on Saturday ate some lunch with my parents and then walked around the inner harbor for a while, due to the excessive heat we decided enough was enough and back to my aunts place for a little nap time. Once nap time was over it was time to party....but since Leighan and I really didn't know anyone we basically just talked to my immeadiate family ate dinner and then went to bed (as leighan got basically no sleep the night before). Sunday we decided to head to DC with my sister and Jason. First stop was Arlington Cemetary, once again it was like 101 degrees outside and there isn't much shade at Arlington so we saw all the important things like JFK's grave and the changing of the guard and then got out of there. It was then off to Georgetown which was a little more what I think leighan envisioned a vacation being. We ate a real healthy lunch at Five Guys a burger place that is simply fantastic and then started our shopping spree. I ended up being the only one to actually buy anything, but I was real happy with the store selection that GT had to offer. I just wish we had a little more time there as there were some stores we didn't get to. It was back to the car to allow Jason to see the rest of the highlights of DC which included the Washington Monument, Vietnam Wall, and the Lincoln Memorial...we could also see the white house from afar in which we saw 3 very large helicopters fly towards and only one land. Moving along we ended up back at my aunts to clean up. We then went for dinner at this Italian restaurant for my sisters anniversary. Sunday was a day of relaxation...watching tv, and going in the pool. We got back safely Monday night and on Tuesday Leighan left me to go visit her bro in Kentucky. Coming soon Long Beach, Minneappolis, Northern Wisconson and Boston for myself. For Leighan Phoenix, New York, and Boston....yeah we are travelling a lot.

Myspace and other social networking profiles bad idea

Yeah pretty much the title once again sums up my post, that is why I guess I preferred this blog pretitle. Anyways, I bring this up just because at work we are going to start interviewing some people for a position and so I had the great idea of looking them up on myspace. While their myspace and facebook might be private, there is always a way to find out information people. I can't believe in the 6 years that I have been writing in this blog I have only used my full name once, which is the worst mistake I could have ever made. Lucky for me I have a job with some people that I really think could care less about my blog now as long as I am not revealing any finacial number or any other secrets. Blogging as a journal gets a lot harder the older you get because there is really nothing to talk about when you spend your whole day at work and there aren't really any work related issues that you would like to discuss in a public forum. I didn't mind writing about my last job because it was a bit of a larger company, but I would just have to be stupid to write anything negative about my current job now. The funny thing is I really have very few gripes about my current job and those gripes are more just annoyances and things I can live with.

Google is a sweet place to work

No I don't work at google as all of you who are reading this know, but I did get to meet with them in their Chicago offices today and I must say it was quite an experience. From the very colorful reception area which contained around 6 very large plasma screens showing all sort of google things, like google maps, and just what people were searching in real time to the snack room that contained anything you sweet tooth could really desire even rock candy it was simply an amazing place. I also came to the conclusion that the people who work at google are top of the line, I was more then impressed with the presentation they put together for my company and just how friendly everyone was. Perhaps that is because of how I was treated when I used to go to meetings with important people for my last job, or it could just be because people at google are typically younger or it could just be because this time I was the client and they don't care who I am or what I look like as long as I got the dollar bills they are happy. I am not sure what else to say, I just was very impressed with every aspect of my first visit. The amazing thing is if the Chicago office was this amazing, I don't think I can even comprehend how great their So Cal campus could be.

Metal should be played at church

Now if you know me, you know that I love metal. Now most metal tends to stay as far away to Christianity as it possibly can. You could even go and say that metal was formed to oppose organized religion. However, music is music and whoever wants to make a certain style of music is free to do so. Obviously this means a lot of Christians started to make metal. I really feel no other style of music speaks from the heart more than a metal singer screaming at the top of the lungs, why else would they be yelling unless they were extremely passionate about what they were yelling about. Anyways, while my church plays fairly loud music for the standards of what typical churches play I can not say that I remember them ever playing any metal. My guess for why would be that most people are A. afraid of metal due to negative stereotyping and B. Can't understand a word that is being said. If those are the reasons I have though of a simple solution, display the lyrics on side screen while the song is being sung, I think that once people see that the lyrics aren't as scary as they may be presented they could appreciate the music for what it is much easier. Anyways, I am just listening to As I lay Dying and really wish that my church would sing the song "This is who we are"

Now this is who we are
I am no one's hero
For we are not the giant men
That some may think
You are faithful when we are not
So I'd like to tell this story
The way it is meant to be
Without the burden that's in our hearts
None of us would have ever found You
For You are faithful when we are not
You began a work
That only you can complete

Now this is who we are
I'll never know the answers
And I'll always wonder why

...Why we're given grace we'll never deserve
And a second chance that we will never earn
For there is nothing I can do to save myself

Now this is who we are
I'll never know the answers
And I'll always wonder why
But You have let me start again
I'd rather be called weak
Than die thinking I was strong

The other song that I feel would be awesome is one by Anah Aevia, who well is no longer around, but were a great small band while they lasted. Here are the lyrics for their song entitled "Emmanuel My Provider"

I will let your light shine to reveal such beauty...I will stumble but you
will pick me and I will say "oh father, my father, I am humbled before you. Your
grace strengthens me and I will walk with you all of my days. I will walk
with you thereafter."

As you can see both songs would be very appropriate in a church setting, but since they are screamed rather than sang they are deemed inappropriate. I don't quite understand this and probably never will.

New favorite birthday song

I have just started watching Metalocalypse again since living at the palace. Thank you all 13 people for clicking on the ads in the 2 plus years that they were up. I made a lavish $1.29. That is with over 8,000 impressions. Looks like I used to have a lot of visitors at least. Hopefully, through the other blog I am starting I can start to rake in at least a couple dollars to share with my staff. Anyways, that is all this post can be about since I am wanting to change subjects and I do not feel that is appropriate at this time.

I Got Nothing

I am going to have to say that job searches suck. My first real job came extremely easily and so I really didn't have any hardcore interviews or have to apply for job after job without any results. This time around things are different. It is the end of the year and companies seem to not be hiring as much, and I am just not getting any results. It is getting extremely frustrating especially when I have a wedding to plan. I see how much money the wedding is going to cost and think about how I don't even have a job to make money to contribute to it yet and it gets a bit overwhelming. Hopefully once I start networking some more I will be able to get hooked up at a job that fits me. I think that is what I am looking for this time around. Per request of Dave I decided to go with a blog of all the details.

8am - Wake up
840am- Left for airport
1050am- Airplane takes off for NYC
215pm- Airplane lands in NYC
2:20pm- Got on public bus
2:55pm - got off the bus at 116th st and broadway

Then I took this route for the next 2 hours plus

5:13pm - Ate pizza at Pizza 33

I then wandered some more.

I ended up going to Bryant Park upon leaving this park i was approached by a college aged female who wanted to sell me something. It ended up that she wanted me to sponsor a child from Africa or something. While I wouldn't mind doing this, I wasn't going to do it for this girl.
Insult 1 from this girl - "you look like you are 15"
Insult 2 from this girl - "you look like an elf"

Someone needs to teach this girl how to sell because I think somewhere in the handbook it mentions you dont insult the customer. Oh well, she talked about world of warcraft a lot and thats why I looked like an elf.

6:35pm - ESPNzone at Times Square
This was a really good time. I met a bunch of good guys. One 33 divorced with a 7 year old and remarried a 48 year old. One a 28 year old who's first day of his new job was the next day and he was getting wasted. Later 2 guys from Australia came and explained their travels and other random chats. Anyways the bulls lost which sucked, but I did finally get a text from Leighan mentioning that she was home and she would give me a call soon that happened at 11:32pm

11:48pm - I arrive at leighans hotel and tell the guy at the desk what I am up to and ask if he could call Leighan and say she needs to come down and sign for a package. Leighan comes down and sees me and asks questions like "why are you here?" and "Why didn't you call me?" we end up going to her room and I give her a hug and then commence on my speech, get down on one knee and ask her if she will marry me. The reaction was quite amusing "NO YOU ARENT DOING THIS, THIS ISN'T HAPPENING" then a bunch of crying and hugging and then she finally said yes. We called a bunch of people and then ended up fallin asleep. Very tired and my feet killed. She said it was perfect and while I may have wanted to go out somewhere to do it, the hotel room just seemed to work well especially since Leighan was already in her PJ's. Anyways we are both very excited and that is the story. No wedding date yet since I have no job.

...and life goes on

Most of you who still come here are my close friends, pals, buddies, or relatives (MOM). Anyways, I thought I would announce it to everyone else that the rumors are true John Dewey no longer has a place of employment. While I really did enjoy my job towards the end, I can't say that I am too terribly upset. Sure there is the money issues, and the hassle of finding a new job. But I also found some things to be terribly wrong at my last job.

The first complaint I have deals with the fact that in business "The customer is always right." Well, as Ben Affleck once said in Mallrats "The Customer is always an asshole!" and I couldn't agree more. I mean how is the customer RIGHT when they have signed their name not only once during the process, but twice stating that they APPROVED the plan for the work to be done and second the actual work that was done the way they wanted. Then come back and say, "no you guys missed the ball completely." Are you kidding me? How is this my fault? Well, I guess that any several other questions I have will never be answered, but I really wish they were. The one thing at work that I will never be is a kiss ass, it just goes against my nature. If I see that I am in the wrong, or there is a better way of doing things then yeah I'll admit that, but just doing things not the way you want to just to appease someone even if you don't think it is the right way to do them is just plain stupid.

The second complain or issue I had was while the customer was always right, the customer was somehow wrong a lot of the time. They were wrong mainly in expecting things to be done in a timely manner. Typically a company would want to make sure they stayed on time and kept the customers as happy as possible. Somehow the company I worked for kept people happy enough, but still screwed people over on a daily basis. It was quite an amazing thing to watch. I mean for example during the graphics phase a client would submit their changes and it should typically take 2-2.5 weeks, which I feel is long in itself, but that is an issue for another time. Anyways, while it should have taken 2 weeks it typically ended up taking 2-4. Obviously by week 3 the client would want to know where the hell his work was. It was my job to make sure I kept him notified of what was happening the entire time. Okay well your graphics are scheduled _____ I will let you know when they are finished. Come the time they were scheduled I would come to find out they got bumped, so I'd have to figure out a reason that they were bumped, typically due to the client being slow on some sort of deliverable whether it be returning the signed plan or getting me their logo file or whatever. Anyway, real bullshit. Why should we delay their project just because they delayed us? Where are we going? Aren't they the paying customer? Should it really matter that they couldn't get us a logo file for 2 and because of that they now have to wait 4 weeks for graphics. What kind of ass backwards logic is that. Well that is the logic of "setting expectations." And to me it is just bad business. I am just amazing at how many clients pay so much money for crap service. I mean the ones that spend the most get great service for the most part, but if you are a smaller business laying down an equal share of your earnings as a larger business well tough because you don't mean much. The owns always said it was those smaller businesses that made the company successful which I wouldn't disagree with, but I would say I don't get why those business kept coming back.

On my last day of work about 15 minutes before getting laid off I got an email from an extremely angry client. Basically ranting on how the service at my company had gone downhill the past year or so. He mentioned how it seemed like we forgot about the clients we already have and only cared about newer larger clients. I don't think I can disagree with that. This client was a bit upset with me for not getting back to him from an email he sent to me Friday asking for a timeline of when I thought his website could go live. Since this decision wasn't really up to me I had to depend on sending emails to a coworker and then waiting for an answer. I sent three emails and received no help whatsoever. Then of course the client went off. I don't get a company that doesn't want to help one another with issues, but instead just want to point the blame of who's fault everything is. Well, obviously this one was going to be my fault again because I was "the manager" and I didn't do everything I could do to get the answer for the client. Because really 3 emails which you know the person read isn't enough. You should really confront the person and if that doesn't work perhaps kidnap their wife and children and hold them for ransom to see if that can get you an answer.

Okay - That is enough for one day about that job. Obviously, there were some things that got me a little riled up. Overall though I really did like most of the people I worked with. I will miss them and I hope to do lunch with them every now and again, or at least until I get another job and become way more sucessful then them. Then I probably want to be seen with any of them or they will lower my street cred. ya know?

Rain can't put out the Fire

I am not used to creating titles, so why not make them as cheesy as possible.

Anyways, just viewed the Blaqk Audio video and realized how awesome it is that I can put videos on my blog. Oh well, it is worth the wait. I think I am going to have to take a lot more video snippets now whenever I go out. I also thought about putting my camera in my cubical and filming as long as I can just so people can see how odd the receptionist can get.

So I have been playing Bioshock and I must say it is fairly cool, I guess the storyline is good, but I think games that make you go search for things makes me very annoyed. I prefer FPS where you just have to kill everything and move on. Puzzles while they may make a deeper game, not always needed. But I digress.

The video above was during the rain delay of the fire game in columbus ohio. Look at me throwing out the keywords. There is no doubt that chicago fire soccer fans will be finding my site. The game ended up 1-0 with Wanchope getting the only goal. the bus trip was nice drank a ton of beer and an entire bottle of patron was consumed. I only wish Andrew had a better time, though I am sure the rain didn't make it very much fun. I should know as I was freezing on the bus on the way home. That and the last hour I really had to go to the bathroom, thank goodess for the port-o-johns at Toyota Park or I would have been just out of luck.

okay video has finished posting time for the surprise video

I am somewhat tentative to add this video since it is probably never a good idea to put your face on a blog, though if anyone has ever searched through the archive of this blog they have seen my face plenty of times.

Blaqk Audio Video

Time to see how this video thing works. The reason I have once again got on a sabbatical from posting is because I don't think blogs lead to much positive. I mean since this is basically an online journal, I am exposing myself to my employer and possible future employers for all I am worth. When I started to add things up to see if it was worth continuing to post items about how I got drunk some weekend, I decided that the answer would be no. However, I now notice that there is a new feature with this blogger known as "add video" this intrigues me, so I will really need to try this when I get home. I recorded a few videos from the Fire game I went to in Columbus and also the Blaqk Audio show I attended last night. I will give those a whirl and then I am done....

Prebachelor Party

So it has been quite a while since I have last posted, once again. My stomach is killing me right now, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid for Andys bachelor party. I hope I don't feel like crap tomorrow, or it will be a long day which I won't be able to drink much during. I have been excited for Andys party for the longest time, it just doesn't seem like everyone else is as pumped up. I would like to talk about work on this, but the more I think about it the more I realize how dumb that would be even if this would be extremely hard to find. With that said it leaves me very little to write about. I told Dan this week about how I was planning on moving out, and since he may read this it makes it kind of weird that I am talking about it, but he seems to have taken it well. I am very relieved. I am excited to move on with my life in the next year to year and half, there seems to be many things out there to do.

I know I often talk about how I reread my blog from like 2002, but I most apologize for what I said back then. I was reading some posts about going to a Jewish Synagogue and I really made fun of it. While, I think religious jokes for the most part are funny, I think the way I was saying it really wasn't funny and was just offensive. I have really started to think about my stance on my beliefs and what others believe and I really want to try and discuss things more with people and not just argue or try to make them feel bad. Granted in the end I would want to prove that I am correct in my thinking, but it really does seem like the only way to do that is by discussing things and accepting people for who they are when you meet them and building relationships.

I also have been thinking about getting some tats I know that I may regret them in the end, but I feel it is something I've always wanted to do and knowing me the needle will touch me once and I'll say screw this. I mean if I had my choice I would probably try and get full sleves. Too bad I don't have any muscle on my arms for them to look good. I also wish Leighan liked them more or at least accepted them more, but she is really down on tats she thinks they are extremely ugly and I can understand her point of view, but I don't know I think if they are done right they look awesome.

I also must publicly admit that I am becoming more of a Machead, it is quite sick, but seriously Macs are extremely nice. Maybe it is just because I always wanted a laptop, but I think the fact that it is a Mac isn't hurting things.

Breaking News:

I didn't win the lottery, I know most of you thought it was going to happen for me and I could break the chains that corporate america has on me, but it was not to be. I am a bit sad now, so I am going to throw a pitty party. This will take place hopefully on Friday evening in Lincoln Square, being served will be amazing rye pretzles and awesome german beer.

I will be rich soon!

Well, I know I haven't posted in a while and based upon the comments by one Beth she really misses my great insight i have on life. Thus, I will not leave her hanging any longer. The good thing is that after tomorrow night I will be able to blog much more often since I will no longer have a job. Am I getting fired? No. Am I quitting? No. I will be retiring. Mega Millions is now up to 340 million dollars. I will be winning that and after I do so, my new job will be to maintain this blog site. You will be able to find a lot of great things here, what exactly I have no yet decided, but it will be great. Anyways, if anyone has any requests for things that I post about please put them in the comments. Until then I will let you know that I had a Frozen meal for lunch today, chicken and mash potatoes.

Seeya wouldn't want to be ya

As pretty much everyone knows who reads this blog today is the last day Chief Illiniwek will be struting his stuff on the basketball court, or anywhere else for that matter. When this news first came out I could be quoted to be saying very cruel things about the chief, and well I am not sure if I take any of that back. I do find him quite annoying as his dance is just a little to much. It is also sorta wierd that it is a white dude prancing out there, but I suppose that really doesn't matter. Anyway, I have decided that while I am not a big fan (since I loath the University of Illinois), I still do not like to see a mascot go away for the assanine reasons. Being PC is so bullshit, I mean Tim Hardaway comes out and says he hates gays, oh well at least he is speaking the truth. I think it is far worse to cover things up. Anyways, sorry to those who are losing their chief hopefully I will never lose my Otto or Victor E. Bluejay.

Weekend Recap

Alright - So I didn't post all week, really nothing to interesting that deserved postage. This weekend was a slightly different story with few musings.

Friday- After work I headed to EJ's as we had tickets to go see All That Remains. My google maps told me it was 9 miles or 25 minutes. No highways were needed and I started off making really decent time, about 4 miles away is where things got a bit sticky, overall it ended up taking about an hour to get to the apartment. This is exactly why I would never live in the city. As for the concert it was very enjoyable. I got accused by Metro security of smoking and they asked me to stop. The problem was that i wasn't smoking, no idea what he saw. After ths who we met up with Jim and Jim at the daily. EJ and myself both stated how we really didn't feel like drinking, one at the daily that feeling must have gone away. Newcastle tasted like sweet nectar on my lips, and so I proceeded to have 3. I must say Newcastle on tap far, far superior to that in a bottle. We then decided to move on to what i believe is called the brauhaus, a nice German restaurant where the average age had to be 65. We decided to drink a boot, of their own beer. It was good stuff, but in the time that we drank it all I seemed to be slightly under the influence. Maxwell, EJ and myself decided to leave zervas and head towards the 7/11. Picked up lots of random food, and slapped Maxwell and EJ in the face with a slim Jim a couple times and then headed back home. Ate all the random food and passed out. The next day woke up with not to bad of a hangover which I can't say the same about Maxwell who proceeded to vomit a ton. EJ and I went and got lunch at this random hot dog joint and I ordered hot wings that were something I had never seen before. I wish i took a picture because it was basically just tons of hot junk tossed on wings and called hot wings, it looked rather nasty and there was a random hair on one of the wings which didn't seem to phase EJ. After that headed back to the apartment and ej headed out for a hair cut. Maxwell and i went to get him some lunch at Garcia's, where i stuck with a 4 dollar horchata. After all that fun we ended up at the dollar store to purchase a few necessities including a couple candles with Jesus, a Judas candle and a 54" inflatable sword. It was then time to head back to Elmhurst to attend the huge game vs Wheaton. This game was extremely strange from the start. The game was supposed to start around 8pm. When we arrived there still was some wrestling reigionals going on. I really don't get wrestling and I really didn't enjoy seeing this fat dude who was wrestlings boobie. Also the people who watched wrestling ate really healthy food, i saw tons of apples, bananas, even a can of pineapple was left in the risers. So the game ends up starting around 9pm instead. The first half was pretty good, although while it should have been really exciting something was just missing, perhaps it was because I was so nervous with the outcome. At halftime we got the treat of a fire alarm and everyone had to evacuate the premises. There was no fire so the game resumed, and after an almost fight midway through the 2nd half the game ended with an Elmhurst Victory. After the game we returned back to the city and headed back to the same place we were the night before. Andrew and his friend Andy joined us. They were already trashed so we decided just to start doing boots, we ended up drinking 3 of them, which isn't too bad in an hour and half. We then returned home and sleeping commenced. I woke up to the sound of Andy on all fours vomiting in the middle of the TV area, very nasty and something i rather not have to wake up to ever again. I woke up again a little while later to Andy snoring like i have never heard anyone snore before. It was so bad that i had to retreat from my comfortable couch to go sleep on the kitchen floor, where the snoring was still audible but manageable. I went home at around 10am, took a shower and headed out to have lunch with leighan at our usual spot Red Robin. After lunch it was time for some daytona 500 action, and a great nap commenced. I saw most the great action and in the end well there was a lot of chaos and a great race to the finish line. After all that I got hungry and so I ordered some papa johns for Dan and myself. I don't really want to go into the details, but papa johns is the worst pizza place ever, I would recommend no one ever order from there ever. It was the time to talk to leighan for a few minutes and then go to bed fairly early as the abuse I have been doing to my body is starting to catch up to me.

Alter Egos

As most of you know when people get drunk they end up transforming into a whole different beast ala anyways in the spirit of this Dan and I have decided to apply names that fit our drunken characters.

As many of you know here is the list of alter egos that already exist:

Jim B: Hank
Andy H: The Mayor
Jim Z: Demetri (i am not sure if this is official or if this is the exact name)
Alex: (I know they gave him one does anyone know what it is?)
Dan: Sal
Dave: Lance
John: Lamar (I am still trying to figure out why Lamar, and if anyone else has any other suggestions please feel free to suggest them in the comments)

Well I started reading more of my old blog entries and noticed what I really love about it is that I can look back and know exactly what was happening on that particular day. I think perhaps these new entries while perhaps a tiny bit more thought provoking are just something I should do on the side, and I should go back to listing out the events of my days. So here we go.

Monday- Super Bowl hangover @ work, ended up going home eating some dinner, watching Prison Break and 24.

Tuesday - Work, then traveled through the dangerous snow to leighans for a night of dinner and a movie. Chainsaw Massacre: The Beggining is an alright movie, but nothing to write home about.

Today - The plan is to work, then go home make some dinnr for leighan and myself. At 7:30 we will be attending a huge game of D3 Hoops between Elmhurst college and Carthage college. If Elmhurst loses and Augie loses to Wheaton tonight, tied for first!

I guess this is a good reason of why I don't write everything I do. work really takes up a lot of time, and unlike school nothing that interesting happens at work. I am getting old, it is depressing.

How can it take that long?

The title is actually in reference to an old roommate of mine is said he would work out for 2.5 - 3 hours when he went and worked out. To me this just doesn't seem possible, and if it is possible you should look a whole let better then said roommate ended up looking. Based upon a new roommates regimen which only takes an hour or so, sure he may just be maintaining is sleek figure, but seriously I think an hour is all you need. Now that I have admitted to checking out other guys figures I will continue on to what this post is supposed to be about.

My job is really boring. While, I think the end product is cool and some of the steps along the way are neat as well, I just get real bored real quickly. The problem is I have something like 33 projects this is more then most have, granted mine are a little easier, but still having to manage 33 clients is quite the task. You have to email, call, create the project plan, and check up on all the details that go into building a site. I know I will probably regret saying this as it will probably be found by someone who works with me, but it seems like there is a lot of downtime. Maybe it is me not having enough work, or maybe I am just doing a thorough enough job, I really don't know, but I honestly just don't see how doing what I need to do takes the whole day everyday. During that downtime I often journey to many other websites, and while for most of you slackers out there that would be considered well for lack of a better work slacking off. I consider it research to find what I enjoy looking at in a website, I have noticed I have a much more critical eye when I look at websites now, and it is rather annoying. I notice the navigation and the title tags and just everything that gets pounded into my head on a daily basis. So, I guess the question I ask is, is everyone really working 100% of the time like they appear to be, am I the only one who has this downtime, or is everyone able to do what they will for the majority of their day? I mean honestly I would prefer a lot less downtime as it makes the clock tick a lot slower, this morning flew by as I wrote a project plan for a new client of mine, now this afternoon is just taking forever. It seems as though I am dragging this blog on because honestly I think I have lost my train of thought as well as just trying to make it longer for something to do.

Super Bowl Could Have Been Gayer

I am very suprised since the theme of the Super Bowl was who can make the fruitiest commercial, bud decided not to show this one.

No One Will Ever Care About the Utah Jazz

The Bulls lost to the Jazz last night, and while other more important things happened last night such as Jack Bauer losing his brother, I hate losing to the Jazz. I can't really explain my hatred for the Jazz, but I think it has to deal with the man pictured, while not on the team anymore, that bald head, goatee and HUGE glasses gave me nightmares for two NBA finals in a row. Looking at his glasses again gave me a great idea though. Similar to how football players wear the shields on their helmets that are opaque so other players can't see their eyes, how come this has not started in basketball. I know they teach you to look at the player you are guarding hips, but I would think players also look at the eyes and what an advantage if you were not able to see them. Another useful tool would be colored contacts for instance if you wore the same contacts Marilyn Manson wore.

I think this post shows why I am not a sports writer. Writing about frivileous bullshit of my life is far easier then writing about anything with any substance, perhaps I should stick to that. The honest truth is this post was a lame excuse to post a picture of Antoine Carr.
